Veterans

No group of Americans has stood stronger and braver for our nation than our troops and our veterans. Our soldiers have courageously answered when called, gone where ordered, and defended our nation with honor.

Sadly though, the military and VA health care systems are in crisis. It is time for a New Direction for our VA system that is overwhelmed by troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan seeking care and, in many cases, unable to provide veterans with the quality, timely services they deserve. The treatment and living conditions for wounded soldiers at Walter Reed and other Veterans' Administration and military medical facilities around the country is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

Our veterans kept their commitment to our country; we must keep our commitment to them. Congress must work in a bipartisan way to ensure the VA, and our veterans, have all the resources they need.
