Healthcare
The cost of healthcare is out of control. Family healthcare premiums have gone up 45% since President Bush took office. Those Florida residents who can afford health insurance pay an average of $11,480 per year for family coverage, which is about what the average minimum wage earner brings home. On top of that, HMO profits are up 86%.We need to make Health care coverage more affordable for working families. Any family with a head of household who is employed full time should be able to afford health insurance for the entire family.
Finally, we need to pass a prescription drug plan that really works and allow Medicare to negotiate for lower prescription drugs for our seniors. Americans deserve access to affordable, quality healthcare and I intend to take this step for Florida residents.
